Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is CPAP Tracker?
CPAP Tracker helps you manage your CPAP equipment by tracking replacement schedules, cleaning tasks, on-hand inventory, and optionally viewing sleep data from Apple Health. You can also enable AHI tracking to log your daily values.
Is my data stored online?
By default, all data is stored locally on your device. Pro users can optionally enable iCloud sync to keep data synchronized across multiple devices. When enabled, your data is stored in your private iCloud account — we never have access to it.
Equipment tracking
How do I add a new consumable?
Go to the Consumables tab and tap the “+” button. Select the type of consumable and set a replacement interval.
What does “Due Soon” and “Overdue” mean?
- Due Soon: The consumable is within 20% of its replacement date.
- Overdue: The replacement date has passed. Tap the consumable to replace it.
Can I track more than 5 consumables?
The free version supports up to 5 consumables. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited tracking.
Inventory tracking
How do I start tracking inventory?
Open any consumable in the Consumables tab and tap “Track inventory.” Set the number of units you currently have on hand. The count drops by one each time you tap “Mark Replaced” for that item, so you always know what’s left.
How does the low-stock alert work?
Each tracked item has a low-stock threshold (defaults to 1, customizable per item in the consumable’s Inventory section, or globally in Settings > Default Intervals > “Reorder When at or Below”). When your on-hand count drops to or below the threshold, a low-stock badge appears in the consumables list and a “Time to reorder” callout appears on the consumable’s detail screen.
Do I get a push reminder?
Pro users get a push notification the morning after stock crosses the threshold. Free users see the in-app badge and callout. You can upgrade to Pro at any time from Settings.
How do I stop tracking inventory for an item?
Open the consumable, scroll to the Inventory card, and tap “Stop tracking inventory.” Your on-hand count and threshold are cleared, and any pending reorder reminder is cancelled.
AHI tracking
What is AHI?
AHI (Apnea-Hypopnea Index) is a measurement from your CPAP machine that indicates the number of breathing interruptions per hour of sleep. Categories are based on clinical guidelines from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
Is AHI tracking required?
No. AHI tracking is entirely optional. You can disable it in Settings > Sleep by turning off “AHI Tracking.” When disabled, all AHI-related features are hidden throughout the app.
How do I log my AHI?
With AHI tracking enabled, go to the Sleep tab and tap “Log AHI” to enter your value from your CPAP machine’s display or app. You can include usage hours and notes.
Where can I find my AHI?
Most CPAP machines display AHI on the screen when you wake up. You can also find it in your machine’s companion app (like myAir for ResMed or DreamMapper for Philips).
Sleep data
How do I see my sleep data?
Go to the Sleep tab. The app reads sleep data from Apple Health. You’ll need to grant HealthKit permission when prompted.
Why do sleep dates appear one day earlier than Apple Health?
The app tracks sleep sessions on the day they start, from 12:00 PM through 11:59 AM the next morning. This is the same way that most CPAP and BiPAP manufacturers capture sleep data. Apple Health records a sleep session on the wake-up day. For this reason, app data will appear one day earlier than Apple Health. The sleep duration and stage data will match.
What if I don’t have sleep data?
You can preview the feature using example data. Go to Settings > Sleep and enable “Example Data.”
Why isn’t my sleep data showing?
Make sure HealthKit access is enabled: go to iOS Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > CPAP Tracker and enable sleep data access.
Celebration animations
How do I turn off the animation after logging an entry?
Go to Settings > Sleep > “Celebration Animations” and turn it off. This suppresses the full-screen breathing orb, starburst overlay, and watch celebration view. The success haptic still fires so your save isn’t silent. The setting syncs to your Apple Watch automatically.
XP, streaks & achievements
How do I earn XP?
You earn experience points (XP) by:
- Replacing consumables on time
- Completing cleaning tasks
- Meeting your sleep goal
- Logging your AHI regularly (if AHI tracking is enabled)
- Maintaining streaks
What are streaks?
There are two types of streaks. Your Sleep Goal Streak tracks consecutive days you meet your sleep goal. If AHI tracking is enabled, you also have a separate AHI Logging Streak for consecutive days you log your AHI. Keep them going to earn bonus XP.
What happens if I miss a day?
Your current streak resets, but your longest streak record is preserved. You can always start building a new streak.
Cleaning
How does the cleaning schedule work?
The Cleaning tab shows daily, weekly, and monthly tasks based on the consumables you’re tracking. Tap a task to mark it complete and earn XP. Pro users can customize cleaning intervals to be more frequent than the manufacturer default.
iCloud sync (Pro)
How do I enable iCloud sync?
Go to Settings and toggle on “iCloud Sync.” Your data will sync across all devices signed into the same iCloud account.
What data syncs?
Consumables, replacement history, inventory counts and thresholds, cleaning records, XP, streaks, and achievements all sync. AHI entries sync if AHI tracking is enabled. App settings and HealthKit data do not sync.
What if I have data on multiple devices?
When you enable sync, the app intelligently merges your data. It keeps your highest XP total and longest streaks from any device.
How do I turn off sync?
Go to Settings and toggle off “iCloud Sync.” Your data stays on each device but stops syncing new changes.
Pro upgrade
What does Pro include?
- Unlimited consumables
- iCloud sync across devices
- PDF export of your equipment history
- Low-stock reorder push reminders
- Custom cleaning intervals
- Ad-free experience
- All future Pro features
Is Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a one-time purchase with lifetime access.
How do I restore my purchase?
Go to Settings > tap “Upgrade to Pro” > tap “Restore Purchases” at the bottom of the paywall.
Notifications & reminders
How do I set up equipment reminders?
Go to Settings > Equipment Reminders to enable notifications and set how many days before replacement you want to be reminded.
Can I get a daily reminder to log my AHI?
Yes. With AHI tracking enabled, go to Settings > Sleep and turn on “Daily Reminder.” You can set your preferred reminder time.
How do I manage notification permissions?
The app will ask for notification permission on first launch. You can also manage permissions in iOS Settings > Notifications > CPAP Tracker.
Data management
How do I export my data?
Pro users can export a PDF report from Settings. This includes your consumables and replacement history.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Settings and use “Reset All Data” to permanently delete everything. If you use iCloud sync, you may also need to delete data from your iCloud settings.
